Happy Birthday Mom

Today would have been my mom's 80th birthday..
but we lost her in 1970..
not a day goes by that I don't miss her..
what I wouldn't give for a little time with her right now..
any day..
just an hour..
a few minutes..
to hear her voice..
feel her touch..
I want to know..
in her eyes..
did I do okay?
I know what it feels like to be a mom..
to be a grandma..
I don't remember what it feels like..
to be a daughter..
a mother's daughter..
Happy Birthday, Mom..
I miss you.

  1. I was 47 when I lost my mom. I was blessed to know her as an only daughter would . She and I were very close. The fact that you miss her and honour her birthday speaks volumes of your present connection with her. Have no doubt that she is with you now. She presents herself in many quiet ways. Just watch and listen; she has been guiding you along for years. I know this from my own humble experience of the mother-daughter connection.
    Kind regards, Laura

  2. Oh, what a sweet, heart felt post, you made me teary eyed! I'm sorry she died so young! I know she is alive in heaven watching you and you'll always be her daughter. Thank you for reading and always leaving comments on my blog, I appreciate it so much.
